MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS
The station operates a structured training system with courses run 3 times a year dependant on the numbers applying or the station manning demands. Applications for membership are requested using the ‘Expression of Interest‘ form below. When a new training course is to start you will be invited to submit a formal application form.
Please download and complete the following Expression of interest form, making sure that you sign the relevant sections. The form should then be sent to the Membership Secretary at the address below. On receipt of this form your name will be placed on a waiting list and processed in the order in which they are received.
You will be invited to visit the tower at Fleetwood for an informal meeting (unless you have already done so), at which time you will have the opportunity to see a watch in operation and to ask any questions that you might have.
We take members from all walks of life and no special experience is expected. Hence all new members are required to undertake a programme of training, delivered over the course of approximately 7 evenings at Fleetwood Nautical College. The courses are run during the year on consecutive Wednesday evenings, commencing in February, May and September/October. Applicants will be expected to fulfil this requirement in order to proceed with membership.
Expression of interest forms will therefore be retained until the commencement of the next training programme, at which time applicants invited to take part in the training will be formally enrolled into membership as trainees. The number of applicants to be brought forward for training will be in the discretion of the Management Team – based on the current level of membership and the operational needs of the station.
