WATER SAFETY – National Coastwatch Institution

Officers from 30 National Coastwatch stations were out and about over the busy summer months offering coastal safety information to the public as part of the charity’s new proactive approach to safety.

National Coastwatch is a member of the National Water Safety Forum (NWSF) which is a voluntary network, working together in order to reduce water-related deaths and associated harm. National Coastwatch is supporting the #RespectTheWater campaign along with other water safety partners in the NWSF including ROSPA, RLSS, RNLI and HM Coastguard.

NCI Fleetwood now has its own Water Safety Officer, Senior Watchkeeper Ian Glass.
He has been busy since the formation of Water Safety team providing schools and other establishments with information on staying safe at the beach and in the water.
